LNG Export – Jordan Cove Project – Why Oregon Should Reject It

A lively presentation about the proposed Jordan Cove LNG (liquefied natural gas) facility a Canadian company wants to build in Coos Bay Coos and a massive 230 mile Pacific Connector Pipeline they would also build to transport fracked methane gas to the export terminal. All of the gas would be exported to Asian markets.

If built it would be the biggest emitter of greenhouse gases in Oregon, cause the largest permanent clear-cutting in Oregon’s history, put 5 of our major rivers and nearly 500 of our waterways and forests at risk of pollution and degradation, seize land against landowner’s will to install the pipeline and take us 180 degrees away from where the Paris Climate Agreement tells us we must go and fast.
